“I’m smart enough to know that I’m not that smart.” – Al Berg and Voltaire “Rome wasn’t built in a day” Learning what works and what doesn't is a key to losing weight. You can make this easier by weighing yourself each day. It helps to track the activity you do and the foods you eat. The food tracking step is optional, but it will help you find patterns and determine cause and effect. The lessons I’ve learned are outlined in this book and the lessons you learn shouldn’t stop with this book. There are many techniques that I don't cover here. You need to learn what works for you. You are a unique individual. I believe that learning comes from the MEAT technique and daily weigh in is a must. Learning like asking a person for directions. This was common before Google Maps and GPS devices. The person would say go three blocks make a left at the diner, then two blocks north, there will be a Dunkin Donuts on the left and a gas station on the right…. But this is too much information. No one can remember your directions if they’re too complicated. Better off giving easy to follow directions and tell the person to ask someone else when they get closer. To learn to do anything will take time. Just be patient and consistent. Don't try everything at once. Start with one technique at a time and see if it works. If it does continue it and if it doesn't then stop. |
