# 38 - Law of Losing 1 Pound


The goal of the Excel Diet is to lose one pound per week. Since there are seven days a week you need to lose 1/7 of a pound per day.

Since there are 3500 calories in a pound, 1/7 of a pound is 500 calories. So each day you need to reduce your weight by 500 calories.

You can do this by exercising more, eating less or doing both which is my preference.

What you need to do to lose 1 pound will be different from what I need to do. It’s your job if you want health to figure out what this is.

You want to go slow as there’s no rush. Make small adjustments that are outlined in this book until you reach this target. Once you figure out how to lose a pound, repeat this to lose as much weight as you’d like.

The one thing to be aware of is that as you lose weight your metabolism will slow.
