91 Immutable Laws of Weight Loss

# 1 - Law of Health

“Are you choosing junk food and laziness over health and happiness?” – Al Berg

Actor James Gandolfini aka Tony Soprano was whacked by his weight. Do we know for sure that his weight killed him? We don’t. But it’s the best we can surmise about his health.

To be healthy don’t be overweight. You already know whether you’re overweight or not.  Moderate obesity can reduce your life by three years and severe obesity by ten years.

There is a simple measurement called BMI for Body Mass Index which is relatively easy to calculate. It's outlined in The Law of Measurement section. You can find BMI calculation on Google. It will tell you if you’re underweight, normal, overweight, obese or morbidly obese. That one doesn’t sound too good. Search the internet for a BMI calculator and see where you stand. The Excel Diet spreadsheet will calculate this for you.

One thing to do is to get a health checkup. One of the reasons to lose weight is to improve your health.

Many people avoid a health checkup, but early checkups can prevent some diseases including cancer. Would you rather know you have cancer when it's too late to deal with or early enough that you can take actions and change something.

Another reason to get a health checkup is to see where you are with your health numbers (cholesterol, blood sugar, etc.) prior to losing weight and then be able to compare them to what they are after you lose the weight.
