# 57 - Law of Portion Control

There are a few tricks and tips to help you with your portion size.

Use smaller plates.  If you pile food on a smaller plate you won’t eat as much.

If you’re eating from a bag of something take a portion and close the bag and put it away, far away. Never eat directly from the bag.

If there are various sizes to order, always order the small.

Split a plate into ¼ meat, ¼ starch and ½ fruit and vegetable.

Never eat at an “All you can eat” buffet unless you’re ahead of your goal. I recommend not doing it as it’s too easy to eat too many calories.

If at a restaurant and the portion is big, tell the waiter to bring half the portion and put the other half in a doggy bag. You could also split the plate in the middle and eat half the meal.
