Instead of gradually stopping a habit or addiction you stop all at once. This method can work if having a little bit of the food makes you eat lots of it. I have used the “cold turkey” to stop eating junk food in the past and went without it for two years. If you find you can’t eat a little of something, then try stopping with the idea that you’ll never eat it again. The first few days are difficult but as you start to get a few days out, you think I’ve been off this for 4 days; I’m not going to ruin it now. As you get longer into to not having the banned food it gets easier. |
